Mighty Muggs Already Get a Second Wave from Hasbro

Posted by January 3, 2018 Comment

Mighty Muggs have barely just gotten back onto store shelves (no, really, they started hitting last week) and here we are with an announcement of a second wave from Star Wars and Marvel. These will be in stores in February already. The big change for these of course is that we have each figure in a stackable plastic case that lets you bop the head and change to one of three expressions: happy, mad, and just a basic expression. I have a couple of these, and they are pretty great.

STAR WARS MIGHTY MUGGS Wave 2 Figure Assortment

(Ages 6 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $9.99/Available: February 2018)

Iconic STAR WARS characters are spinning heads around the galaxy with the STAR WARS MIGHTY MUGGS Figures. Whether it be REY with a face of determination preparing for battle or KYLO REN with an evil grin as he imagines taking over the galaxy, these hyper-stylized figures feature a push-and-turn mechanism that lets fans change the figure’s facial expression by pushing down on the head. With 3 different expressions and classic character designs, these figures will have fans doing a triple take. Characters include FINN, POE DAMERON, YODA and more. Each sold separately. Available at most major retailers and on HasbroToyShop.com.

MARVEL MIGHTY MUGGS Wave 2 Figure Assortment

(Ages 6 years & up/Approx. Retail Price: $9.99/Available: February 2018)

Get ready to turn heads with MARVEL MIGHTY MUGGS Figures. Call it a moodswing, or call it a moodSPIN, these MARVEL MIGHTY MUGGS figures feature a push-and-turn mechanism that lets fans change the figure’s facial expression by pushing down on the head. With 3 different expressions and classic character designs, these figures will have fans doing a triple take. Characters include BLACK PANTHER, DOCTOR STRANGE, ROCKET RACCOON and more. Each sold separately. Available at most major retailers and on HasbroToyShop.com.

The Marvel ones are the better ones of wave 2. That Black Panther one is adorable. I also really like that snide look on Strange’s face. Star Wars loses the battle with the very odd-looking Yoda. I get that this is the look for these figures, but it looks like he is wearing a Yoda head helmet. Finn and Poe look great, however.

These incarnations of Mighty Muggs look like they are around for the long haul. Hopefully sell through is good so we can get far into the line this time.
