Bat-Drama Alert: Christian Bale Hasn't Watched Ben Affleck Batman Movies, Not a Fan of Superheroes

A lot of people have strong opinions on the success of Ben Affleck as Batman in Batman v. Superman and Justice League, but the actor who played Batman prior to Affleck hasn't even watched one of the movies. Christian Bale recently revealed that he hasn't seen Affleck's portrayal of Batman because his interest waned after watching the trailer for the movie.

"I have not [seen Ben Affleck's Batman]," Bale said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast as transcribed by physics-themed pop entertainment blog Collider. "Yes I'm interested [in seeing it], my son seemed like he was really interested, but then I realized he just wanted to see the trailer and that was it — I tend to go see films that [my kids] want to see."

Double diss! It looks like Christian Bale's son also lost interest after the trailer, since Bale points out that he tends to go see films his kids want to see, and he never ended up seeing Batman v. Superman or Justice League. But it's not Ben Affleck that Bale has a problem with specifically. Instead, it turns out, he simply doesn't care for superhero movies at all (unless, of course, they star Christian Bale).

"I have to confess I'm not a huge superhero film fan," Bale continued. "People seem surprised at that, I don't know why. I've not seen any of the Avengers films or any of those films at all. I hear they're very good, but I'm quite happy just hearing they're very good."

Mercifully, Bale didn't mention what he'd heard about the quality of Justice League.
