Happy New Year! Here’s a New Image from Marvel’s Black Panther

To celebrate the sweet, merciful death of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, Marvel Studios has released another image from the upcoming Black Panther. Marvel posted the image to social media, showing Chadwick Boseman’s titular Panther and Lupita Nyong’o’s Nakia dressed up and out on the town.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, Black Panther also stars Michael B. JordonDanai Gurira, and Martin Freeman. Not only is it expected to be the first blockbuster of 2018, but early projections suggest it will give rival studio Warner Bros’ flagship Justice League a run for its money, with an estimated $90 million opening. That would make Black Panther the biggest opening of a Marvel solo character not named Iron Man — and it’s within range of overtaking Iron Man’s $98 million opening if things go exceptionally well.

Black Panther hits theaters on February 16, so we’ve only got one-and-a-half months before we find out.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
