We’ve all heard about how Justice League underperformed at the box office, costing Warner Bros the top box office ranking of 2017 and causing DC Films President Jon Berg to pay the ultimate price. But in a shocking swerve nobody could have possibly seen coming, Justice League has also underperformed on the list of top ten moments of 2017 from DC-loving Long Beach mayor, Robert Garcia.

According to Garcia, seeing Justice League, which he describes as “the culmination of years of anticipation,” only ranked #4 on his list.

“No question it had problems,” Garcia remarked of the beleaguered film, “and I wish the studio would have let Snyder create a more cohesive vision, but watching it was years of build up. Glad it’s done.”

Beating out Justice League on Garcia’s list of favorite moments were getting a personal tour of the DC offices where he met Diane Nelson, Jim Lee, and Dan Didio, participating in the successful Los Angeles bid for the 2028 Olympics, and getting engaged to the love of his life. However, Justice League did manage to top moments like enacting clean air laws and visiting Japan to expand international trade.

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
