PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds Has Surpassed 30 Million Players

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds continues to reach massive heights as the game has now been played by more than 30 million users. PUBG Corp. announced that the title recently passed the huge milestone, making it one of the most-played games of all time.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

In well under a year, the game has beaten some of the great games of history with this milestone, with PUBG sitting alongside some of the biggest titles in gaming. There haven't been a lot of games that have banged quite like this, at least for the last few years. Grand Theft Auto V, perhaps?

In a statement, PUBG Corp said:

2017 has been a phenomenal year for PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. With over 30 million players globally across PC platforms and the Xbox Game Preview program, we owe the success we've experienced this year to the community, whose passion has inspired all of us here at PUBG Corp. to make the very best game we can. We'll continue to fine tune the Battle Royale experience and will introduce additional in-game content, including new crates, to become available in early 2018.

The success of the game is really something else. The fact it beat out Dota 2, a free-to-play game, as the most-played game on Steam earlier this year is mind-boggling. As it moves into 1.0 and improves its Xbox One version, and supposedly makes the leap to other consoles, the game will continue to grow. The future looks very bright for PUBG.
