Flash Season 4: Is Bill Goldberg Playing This Unlikely Villain?

Earlier in the we had two bits of casting news for the Flash that seem to pertain to the current storyline of The Thinker and the 12 Metahumans from the bus. There was a report that WWE Wrestler Bill Goldberg would be appearing for at least 2 episodes of The Flash. The second report was that Kendrick Sampson (How To Get Away With Murder) was being cast as Brainstorm. But if you go back to Halloween, The Hashtag Show reported two casting calls for The Flash, and they have been very good about getting these and figuring out exactly who the characters are in the comics. One of the two they said was Brainstorm… points for them.

What if we take the second casting announcement and see if it lines up with Mr. Goldberg?

Male, 30s – 40s, Open Ethnicity. Neil a blue collar, likable, good guy just trying to make ends meet, but unbeknownst to him, he has radiation emitting meta powers that could cause the whole city to suffer a nuclear, catastrophic explosion. Neil is unaware that he is hurting people. Think Martin Freeman on "The Office"…..PERFORMER MUST BE BALD…..POSSIBLE RECURRING GUEST STAR

Well, Goldberg just turned 50… so he is definitely the top end of their request. Could fit the blue collar, likable part. Unaware he's hurting people, sure. Martin Freeman on The Office… that's a stretch. Must be bald… bingo! It's a possible match — if the producers are okay with going a bit more menacing than Martin Freeman in exchange for Goldberg's name and the WWE fanbase. They did that with Adam Copeland in season 2 when he played Atom Smasher.

As for who the they think the character is? Fallout. Neil Borman was mason doing work at a nuclear power plant when an accident altered his DNA causing his body to emit radioactive particles. Created by Geoff Johns and Ethan Van Scivers in The Flash: Iron Heights, the character didn't realize he was hurting people and inadvertently killed his family. He turned himself in to Iron Heights when he used to power the facility. Flash released him from that, but Borman has come to consider Iron Heights his home now.

The Flash series is using Iron Heights as the place where most of the metas are ending up. It would make sense for Borman to end up there. And I could see Goldberg playing the part. There is no official announcement, but the timing does seem to match up.
