Ghostbusters Ecto-1 From Playmobil Is A Must-Own

Ghostbusters fans need to listen: the Playmobil line of toys are legit — especially the Ecto-1. Available in stores now, this is one of the best versions of the iconic vehicle I have ever gotten my hands on. Our friends from Playmobil sent one over for us to check out, and while our expectations were low, we instantly felt bad for ever thinking ill about this one.

Playmobil Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Vehicle Set

Speed through the city with this Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Playset! This legendary action vehicle has plenty of space for proton packs and ghost traps thanks to the detachable roof. With original sounds and functioning lights, this vehicle is set for ghostbusting action. Set also includes Ghostbusters Winston Zeddemore and Janine Melnitz in their official uniforms with two detachable proton packs and proton lasers, ghost trap, PKE meter for measuring psychokinetic energy, and silicone slime splatters that stick to smooth surfaces. Required 3 x AAA batteries (not included). Ages 6 and up.

One thing I was not expecting is how detailed this set would be. It comes in pieces with instructions, and the assembly is pretty easy. Points are taken off for making me put the stickers on myself — I hate that. They always make them way too small and extremely difficult to apply. Other than that, no complaints whatsoever. Look at how detailed they get with just the proton packs! Even the PKE meter looks awesome. I wish some of my bigger-scale Ghostbusters figures had such care put into their accessories.

This set comes with Winston and Janine. They have limited articulation, but fit perfectly inside the car and hold all of their various traps and such easily. The Ecto-1 itself has a removable top, so you can set the packs on their own holder in the back. The trap has a tray to hold it in place. Once placed back on top, you get accurate sounds and lights by pushing one of two buttons on top.

The only downside is I need to get all of the other sets now. This one is one of the mid-tier sets at $45. It really is worth every penny. You can order one for yourself and find out here.
