Batman Lost #1 Review: Time Jumps Forever

Batman has been through the proverbial hell and back. We've seen him as an old man before, but this time it's different. Trapped in the multiverse thanks to the demon Barbatos, Bruce needs to find his way back to his own timeline. This book ties into the events of Dark Knights: Metal, and it works beautifully well.

Batman Lost #1 Review: Time Jumps Forever

Bruce jumps through many timelines and stories trying to find a way home, and not once does it feel muddled or confusing. This is good, since some people may just get this book without any background knowledge.

Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, and Joshua Williamson all work well to weave this story, which is an orchestrated, purposeful mess. It especially works with the number of different artists, including Doug Mahnke, Yanick Paquette, and Jorge Jiminez. Despite the art styles being different, it really builds up this crazy world Bruce is stuck in. Longtime Batman fans will enjoy the nods to the original costume, stories of the past, and more. Colors by Paquette, Jiminez, and Jaime Mendoza bring this book alive. This creative team really put their hearts into this book, and it shows.

This is an excellent read for both longtime and new Batman fans. Pick this up as soon as you're able.
