Conor McGregor Jumps Into The Cage, Shoves Staff At Bellator 187

Conor McGregor is at it again. This time not at his regular place of employment, the UFC. No, this time it was at chief rival Bellator MMA. At Bellator 187 today, his teammate Charlie Ward scored a KO victory over John Redmond, McGregor jumped into the cage to celebrate.

There was a slight problem with that, as McGregor was not a licensed cornerman for the event, despite a few of his partners participating on the card (including Ward). As the two embraced in the cage literally seconds after the fight was called, security stormed the cage. Referee Marc Goddard had tried to break up the embrace between the two men. After security entered the cage, McGregor began following Goddard around the cage, yelling and shoving the man.

Goddard and Conor have a bit of a history to begin with, having had to stop one fight between Artem Lobov and Andre Fili to make him return to his seat at UFC Fight Night 118 in October. He tried getting into the cage again and even took a swing at a Bellator official.

Bellator MMA released a statement this evening:

"We are aware of the in-cage altercation involving Conor McGregor and a Bellator staff member. Viacom and Bellator hold the safety and well-being of our staff in the highest regard and we're currently reviewing the situation."

There is no word yet on any punishment that may be handed down from an MMA regulatory governing body or the UFC itself, but you have to believe that will be coming soon. The UFC is already unsure about its future with their most bankable star, as he has stated he does not want to fight again unless he has equity in the company coming or they will co-promote his fight with him.

Just another day in the Conor McGregor circus.
