2 Dozen Creators Including Trina Robbins & Ben Templesmith Working On A Comic About Gun Violence

Last week we learned about an Image Comics anthology curated by JH Williams III, Wendy Wright-Williams, Scott Allie, Dave Stewart, and Eric Stephenson to benefit the victims of the Las Vegas shooting that occured in October. But that’s not the only comic addressing the issue of gun violence in the works.

A group of talented comic book creators including Kevin Nowlan, Jamal Igle, Phil Hester, Trina Robbins, Devin Grayson, Alex Segura, Tom Beland, Matthew Dow Smith, Andy Kuhn, Ande Parks, Tony Isabella, Fred Van Lente, Ryan Dunlavey, Dennis Calero, Austin Janowski, Karl Moline, Ben Templesmith, Joe Rubenstein, CW Cooke, Travis Hymel, Carla Speed McNeil, Kelly Williams, Joe Keatinge, and Mariah Huehner are getting together for a separate anthology, as revealed in a Facebook post by Cooke last night. Bleeding Cool has learned that this anthology is not tied to any particular event, but rather addresses the problem of gun violence in general, also to benefitting all of the victims through an as-yet unnamed charity.

We don’t know what it will be called yet, nor whether more creators will be added, but the project should be officially announced soon.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
