Grace Fulton In Talks To Join DC's Shazam
Things are moving forward for the DC and New Line movie Shazam! They have a lead actor in Zachary Levi, and now it's time to start filling in supporting members. Variety is reporting that Grace Fulton from Annabelle: Creation is in talks to join the cast as one of Billy's friends. Fulton has previously worked with director David F. Sandberg on the most recent Annabelle movie.
Summary: The film follows a boy named Billy Batson who can transform into an adult superhero by uttering the magic word "Shazam!" The name is an acronym of the ancient gods and historical figures Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles, and Mercury, who Batson derives his heroic attributes from when in adult form.
Billy is one of the rare superheroes who changes ages when he takes on his mantle, so it's going to be interesting to see how they decide to play this.
David F. Sandberg will direct Shazam!, while Henry Gayden and Darren Lemke will write the screenplay. Peter Safran will produce, who also worked on Annabelle: Creation with Sandberg. The film will star Zachary Levi and is set for an April 5th, 2019 release.
