London, Prepare To be Sterilised In Today's Astonishing X-Men

You think New York is an unsafe place to live as a citizen of the Marvel Universe? What with it turning into demons in Inferno, or being engulfed in darkforce dimension full of demons in Secret Empire, or things having nothing to do with demons happening in other stories? Well, London is rapidly becoming the most dangerous place to live in Marvel comics.

It wasn't that long ago in the Excalibur-related that London had much of its population wiped out, and the streets were a lot emptier. But nature abhors a vacuum and eventually house prices recovered, and people moved back to London. So you might think people would be a little nervy about extinction events.

And then in today's Astonishing X-Men #5, by Charles Soule, Ramon Rosanas, and Nolan Woodard, Commander Keene of the Ministry Of Defence (spelt right, thankfully) seems to want to do it all over again. And sterilise London.

Seriously mate, I live here, I'll take my chances with the mutants! Also, while we are at it, what is Commander Keene's role at the Ministry Of Defence, why isn't the Minster involved, don't you think someone would give Theresa May a quick call to a) tell her to get out and b) tell her she's about to become even less popular and c) at least pop into Bread Ahead at Borough Market, just next to The Shard where this attack is taking place and buy some of their doughnuts and rosemary focaccia, and maybe make it through the queue at Monmouth Coffee if you can make it through the queue, or maybe get a table at Padella, before "sterilising" the London Bridge area entirely.

Actually, maybe it's not so much a euphemism. And he's just talking about making all the men impotent. I'm not sure why, it just may be a thing of his. Which is still extreme, but I'd take it out of the two alternatives.
