Street Fighter V And MVCI Producer Peter Rosas Has Left Capcom

Peter "ComboFiend" Rosas has parted ways with Capcom this week after five years with the company, first as a Community Manager and later as a Producer. Rosas's recent credits are as a producer on both Street Fighter V and Marvel Vs. Capcom: Infinite. Rosas announced his departure from the studio in a post on Capcom-Unity, saying:

Through the releases of our latest and greatest fighters as well as the creation of the Capcom Pro Tour during my time here, I'm happy to see there are more people than ever enjoying Capcom fighting games; whether they're playing or spectating. I can honestly say that it makes me happy to see the newer generation of players creating rivalries and friendships, as well as discussing, analyzing and bonding over these games the same ways I used to and still do.

He went on to express his confidence in the future of Capcom, adding, "There's no doubt in my mind that the current generation has their own unique ideas that will push Capcom's fighting games forward in terms of innovation and evolution."

Before working as a producer on MvC Infinite and Street Fighter V, Rosas served as community manager at Capcom. He's also a competitive Street Fighter player, known by the pro fighting game community as "ComboFiend." He also indicated in his farewell post that he would "now join you all once again as a member of the community and as a Capcom fan."

We wish Rosas well in his future endeavors, and hope his return to the Capcom community as a fellow player is a bit less contentious than reactions to his departure would indicate.
