All Hail The King Crab With Crab War's 2.0 Update

All Hail The King Crab With Crab War's 2.0 Update

The supposedly much anticipated Crab War 2.0 update has been released for iOS and Android users this weekend. If you didn't realize that Crab War was a mobile game and thought my headline was just me being ridiculous, then you've clearly missed out on a game with the most amazing title I've seen in at least a few months. I'd argue it was longer, but really, its hard to beat Cat Quest.

The 2.0 update is the biggest update to hit Crab War since the Gene Tree and Gene Lab updates. Crab War 2.0 introduces big changes to the Tournaments and a whole new King Crab feature and a Halloween event. Because of course it needed a King Crab feature, damn it.

In terms of game fluff, the premise is simple. The Crabs have discovered the Land of the Reptiles and are faced with a new reptile enemy who cannot be defeated by the regular Crabs nor even the Queen Crabs. And thus, the King Crabs join the fray and begin their assault against the new threat. The Land of the Reptiles is a new mode which allows players to evolve and modify the King Crabs and switch out different parts to create a unique King Crab of their own. Each battle earns you honor that will allow you to gain Conches that contain new Common, Rare and Legendary King Crab parts. This all sounds rather convoluted, but should make sense to dedicated Crab War players.

The update also brings new leagues to the tournament setup and introduces some big changes to the rewards players receive from the tourneys. Players will now progress through leagues starting from Bronze to Silver, Gold, Crystal and finally Pearl by earning Coral Crowns. Each progressive league provides greater rewards and pits you against players of your peers.

A mysterious butterfly has also appeared and brings the terrifying new Skeleton Crab seen above for the Halloween event. Obtain an exclusive shell by collecting pumpkins from the butterfly to unleash this new intimidating Crab on hordes of reptiles. As you do.
