Calgary Expo Confirms They Are Now Part Of Fan Expo HQ Shows

In April, we ran the story that vendors at C2E2 had been approached by organisers of the Fan Expo HQ shows telling them that the company has purchased Calgary Comic And Entertainment Expo.

Calgary Expo Confirms They Are Now Part Of Fan Expo HQ ShowsWe had this confirmed from multiple sources, but Fan Expo HQ declined to comment. That was until we ran the story and they suddenly sprung into life, denying it all.

Well, the lady doth protest too much.

And no they have decided to get round to announcing it. That Calgary Comic And Entertainment Expo has is joining the Fan Expo HQ family of shows.

Officially this means that Calgary will have access to an improved list of media and creator guests, more attention from global brands and an expanded network of events. Calgary Comic And Entertainment Expo which ran its 2017 show this week, is a four-day annual show taking place at Calgary Stampede Park. Started in 2006, it now attracts over 100,000 attendees each year.

They do assure existing fans that the same people, staff and volunteers who created and developed the Calgary Expo and Edmonton Expo will continue to produce the events, but now with the support of a national team.

Calgary Comic Con along with associated shows like Edmonton Expo will now join Fan Expo Canada, Fan Expo Vancouver, Fan Expo Regina, Fan Expo Dallas, Toronto Comicon, Dallas Fan Days and Megacon Orlando under the Fan Expo HQ umbrella.

However, it won't include The Saskatoon Comic & Entertainment Expo and that show will now continue as a non-Fan Expo HQ  independent entity again.
