Battlefield 1's Turning Tides DLC Details Have Arrived

Battlefield 1's Turning Tides expansion will bring four new maps, a new game mode, and more to EA's World War I shooter. All of the Turning Tides content will be released between December 2017 and January 2018. Turning Tides is the third full expansion for the game, which is actually kind of impressive given that most games only get two major expansions, but then EA would stupid not to keep milking Battlefield 1 while they can.

The expansion's content focuses on "amphibious" battles, featuring land, sea, and air gameplay, at least according to its official webpage. The first of the new maps, Cape Helles and Achi Baba, will be released in December, with Heligoland Bight and Zeebrugge launching in January.

Turning Tides' new game mode, Conquest Assault, is described as a "twist on the signature Conquest mode." Much like Conquest, players will fight to control designated areas on the map. However, the defending team will control all areas at the start of each match. So it is a little bit of a change there, but not too much. It should feel pretty familiar.

Six new weapons are also included in the expansion:

  • M1917 Trench Carbine
  • Maschinenpistole M1912/P.16
  • Farquhar-Hill
  • M1917 MG
  • Carcano M91 Carbine
  • Type 38 Arisaka

Turning Tides also adds the C-Class Airship, L-Class Destroyer, the Infiltrator Elite Class, British Empire: Royal Marines faction, and a new operation set in 1915 on the Gallipoli peninsula.

Turning Tides follows Battlefield 1's second expansion, In the Name of the Tsar, which EA released on September 19.
