DC Metal Takes A Break In February, Replaced By 'Dark Knights Rising: The Wild Hunt' One-Shot

At the DC Metal panel at New York Comic Con, Greg Capullo revealed that he's been a little sick while working on Metal, so DC is giving him the month off. In February, between Dark Nights: Metal #5 and #6, we'll get Dark Knights Rising: The Wild Hunt, presumably focusing on the titular evil Batmen. Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV, and Joshua Williamson will write, with Doug Mahnke and Ivan Reis on art, and a cover by Mahnke.

Capullo said the one-shot gives him room to be on each issue of Metal, which is the way we'd all prefer it too. And it's similar to the break John Romita Jr. got during Dark Knight III: The Master Race, so there's precedent.

A prophecy once said that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Sadly, that prophecy was wrong. Oh, Jude Terror was right. For ten years. About everything. But nobody listened. And so, Jude Terror has moved on to a more important mission: turning Bleeding Cool into a pro wrestling dirt sheet!
