AMC FearFest Is Back Again For 2017, And It Includes Cult Of Chucky!

Happy October!

It is the best month of the year! The month of Halloween is about candy, haunted houses, and most importantly: horror films and TV shows. One tradition that never stops is AMC FearFest. Now in its 21st year, it is the 24/7 horror marathon that dreams are made of. Slasher fans especially love it, as all of our favorites are there for our viewing pleasure: Jason, Michael, Freddy, and so many more.

AMC FearFest Is Back Again For 2017, And It Includes Cult Of Chucky!

This year's Fest features a great mix of slasher, possession, zombie, and creepy stories that you can turn on and never turn off. Unfortunately, this years Fest only runs from October 23rd–31st. That is because the week before, leading up to the big 100th episode, they will be airing The Walking Dead in its entirety. I would rather have the Fest going, but that is just me.

List of 2017 AMC FearFest Films

  • Halloween (78)
  • Halloween 4
  • Halloween 5
  • Halloween 6
  • Halloween H2O
  • Halloween II (09)
  • Nightmare on Elm Street (10)
  • Freddy vs. Jason
  • Friday the 13th Part IX: Jason Goes to Hell
  • Jason X
  • Wes Craven's New Nightmare
  • Child's Play
  • Curse of Chucky
  • Cult of Chucky
  • Annabelle
  • Thinner
  • Dreamcatcher
  • Dawn of the Dead (04)
  • Land of the Dead (05)
  • House of the Dead 1&2
  • House on Haunted Hill (99)
  • Return to House on Haunted Hill
  • House of Wax (05)
  • Hellbound: Hellraiser II
  • Army of Darkness
  • Van Helsing
  • Lake Placid
  • Slither
  • The Leprechaun Film Series

Some good stuff in there, but overall, they have done better. No Halloween 2 is curious, as well as the lack of Friday the 13th 1-7 and Nightmare on Elm Street 1-5. Those used to be staples. It for sure is leaning more towards modern horror than it has in years past.

Cult of Chucky Cover

Of course, the big one there is that they will be showing Cult of Chucky, the new film in the Child's Play series. That one comes out on October 20th, the week before it would start airing as part of the Fest. Granted, these will be censored versions of these films, but sometimes it is fun to watch those two. Creative ways to cover up curse words are always fun. It is a little strange that the week before they will be showing TWD and all the boundaries they push, but that's OK. I have been watching these movies with commercials for years now. I kinda like it!
