What Does Marvel Legacy #1 Mean For… Captain America? (SPOILERS)

Marvel Legacy #1 by Jason Aaron, with art by Esad Ribic, Steve McNiven, Matthew Wilson, Chris Samnee, Russell Dauterman, Alex Maleev, Ed McGuinness, Stuart Immonen, Wade Von Grawbadger, Pepe Larraz, Jim Cheung, Daniel Acuna, Greg Land, Jay Leisten, Mike Deodato Jr, David Marquez and lettered by VC's Cory Petit, is published by Marvel Comics today – or last night, depending if your store did a midnight opening or not.

As is Generations: The Americas #1 by Nick Spencer, Paul Renaud and Laura Martin, detailing Sam Wilson's own unique trip through the Vanishing Point and a chance to retell the Marvel Universe from another perspective…

Man, this issue is going to be a real Marmite job for folk. you will love it, or hate it. Or maybe both at the same time. But you won't be "meh" about it.

Even when you get the realisation of just what that trip may have been for everyone else in the Generations series. It's not time travel and it never was…

Just a construction by Kobik, but no less meaningful for its participants for all that.

And so, while Marvel Legacy #1 gives Sam Wilson a final chance to wear the threads and swing the shield…

Generations: The Americas #1 gives him the opportunity to hand it back…

And Marvel Legacy #1 lets him take it on a road trip. Travelling the country, seeing at again at ground level. Maybe they should call it Grounded? As long as it's not, you know, to paraphrase a great man "a long ride. A long, dull, pointless, boring ride. Across America…. That I won't finish".

No, nothing like that.
