Marvel’s TL;DR (Too Long; Didn’t Read) has been a nice series to remind readers of stories before moving forward or filling in some blanks they might have missed. This week’s edition is focused on the Runaways.

The original comic series was created by Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona and focuses on a group of kids who get together once a year for their their parents’ annual charity event. One year, the kids find a two-way mirror and spy on their parents during the party, finding out that they’re actually an evil group called The Pride. The Pride controls all crime in Los Angeles and are made up of couples with various powers like time-traveling, magic, and advanced science. The kids run away — hence the title — and rebel against their parents, while the adults try to frame the kids for their crimes. The kids discover powerful items and learn about the own superpowers — and that’s just the origin of the team.

Runaways

Hulu is producing Marvel’s Runaways, adapting the comic into a live-action series. Early reviews of the first two episodes have been positive. The series stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, and Allegra Acosta as the Runaways, while their parents are portrayed by Ryan Sands, Angel Parker, Brittany Ishibashi, James Yaegashi, Kevin Weisman, Brigid Brannagh, Annie Wersching, Kip Pardue, James Marsters, and Ever Carradine.

This episode of TL;DR was written by Noah Sterling and Max Dweck and drawn by Andy Kluthe.
