New Mutants And Deadpool 2 Have Reportedly Wrapped Production

We got the announcement today that Drew Goddard has signed on to direct a X-Force movie so the X-Men movies are moving ahead. What was missed in the story, as reported by Deadline, is that New Mutants and Deadpool 2 have wrapped production.

While other studio superhero moves have gotten more attention lately, Fox has continued to mine the X-Men universe, with strong up and coming directors. The Fault in Our Stars helmer Josh Boone has completed the spinoff X-Men: New Mutants for release April 13. David Leitch wrapped Deadpool 2 for June 1, and the Kinberg-directed X-Men: Dark Phoenix gets released November 2.

New Mutants started production on July 10th and Deadpool 2 started on June 17th so both of the movies had pretty quick production schedules. It's not that surprising that New Mutants have wrapped so fast since it has an April release date. We should see some footage one or both of these movies by the end of the year.

Summary: The story of the New Mutants, a team of mutant heroes comprised of the first graduates from Charles Xavier's school.

X-Men: New Mutants, directed by Josh Boone, stars Anya Taylor-Joy, Alice Braga, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Blu Hunt, and Henry Zaga. It will be released on April 18th, 2018.

Deadpool 2, directed by David Leitch, stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Josh Brolin, Brianna Hildebrand, and Zazie Beetz. It will be released on June 1st, 2018.
