Improv For Fortune As We Check Out 'Someone Has Died' At PAX West

While roaming the floor of the Indiecade area, I discovered one of my appointments didn't even show up to PAX West. So with a little time to kill, I browsed over a couple of tabletop games that were on display. One that snagged my interest was a cool card game called Someone Has Died from Gather Round Games. A group was already in the middle of a demo as I approached, but what I saw was absolutely awesome to check out.

The game is partially based on what you draw and partially on your improv skills. Think games like Snake Oil where you rely on a bit of improv to get you through the challenge at hand. You will create a character based on the cards drawn to help convince someone that you should rightfully be in line for some inheritance for a person who has just passed. Sometimes you get a brilliant hand, other times you get a sour one. But it is up to you to make the best out of it and prove you are the worthy successor. I really enjoyed watching Someone Has Died play out and I can't wait to get my hands on a copy to properly review somewhere down the road.
