Thor: Ragnarok – Jeff Goldblum Says The Grandmaster's Games Are A "Playful Sort"

We live in a world where they got Jeff Goldblum into a Marvel movie and in one of the more insane roles of the Marvel Universe. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is currently playing with its cosmic branch, and the Elders of the Universe are a major part of Marvel's cosmic pantheon. Goldblum has joined the Marvel universe as the Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok and described his character to L.A. Times recently.

"I'm the Grandmaster," Goldblum said. "If you followed the comic books [then you know that] he's one of the elders in the universe. His brother is the Collector, immortal, has fought and beaten death, has superpowers galore, and his games are a playful, playful sort."

It's unclear, at the moment, how much we're going to learn about the Grandmaster during the movie. We know that he's related to the Collector but we don't know if that's going to come up in the movie proper yet. We also don't know how much of their mythology we're going to learn either, but the fact that we're getting these god like beings in the movie is exciting enough.

Summary: Imprisoned, the mighty Thor finds himself in a lethal gladiatorial contest against the Hulk, his former ally. Thor must fight for survival and race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela from destroying his home and the Asgardian civilization.

Thor: Ragnarok, directed by Waititi, stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Jeff Goldblum, Idris Elba, and Mark Ruffalo. It will be released on November 3rd.
