Marvel Promises Generations: Captain America Will Have Something To Do With Something

It has been a critique of the Generations series that these stand alone, timeless encapsulations of what makes a Marvel character sing and dance, and whoever holds the name and… well… standalone, repetitive and also don't seem to tie in with either Secret Empire or Marvel Legacy in any meaningful way.

Well, the Thors managed a coda to tie directly into Marvel Legacy #1. The Hulk issue mentioned Washington. The upcoming Ms. Marvel one mentions it was down to a cosmic cube. But it has been rather on the down low — which is kind of the point of the books.

Well, Generations: Sam Wilson: Captain America and Steve Rogers: Captain America attempts to do something else. By Nick Spencer and Paul Renaud, it has the modern Sam Wilson alongside a much younger Steve Rogers. In World War II.

So we see Steve Rogers as Captain America fighting in World War II (and not being a stooge of Hydra)

And somehow Sam Wilson is there with him, down to that dratted Vanishing Point.

But then we have Steve Rogers out of the ice, joining the Avengers as Captain America. Hey look, it's Jack Kirby there, bottom left…

And Sam Wilson Captain America having a bit of a chat with all the other modern version of legacy characters that have already appeared in Generations: Kamala Khan Ms Marvel, Miles Morales Spider-Man, Captain Marvel, Young Jean Grey, Amadeus Cho Hulk, Kate Bishop Hawkeye, X-23 Wolverine and Jane Foster Thor, who have also appeared in Generations one shots of their very own, sets the stage for the future of the Marvel Universe, and deals with the Vanishing Point.

Maybe they are comparing the importance and relevance of each others issues and how only Captain America and Thor at a push have ones that matter? Or why their books all cost $4.99?
