Fantagraphics To Publish Disney Snow White Sequel Comics By Romano Scarpa In English For The First Time

Italy is one of the most successful producers of Disney Comics, and one of the few territories that sees Disney publish their own comics rather than license the rights to others. Recent years have seen more of those comics translated into English and sold back to America, and comic book creator Romano Scarpa was one of the first to see his Mickey Mouse strips take the journey back to the Disney homeland.

But he created many comics, for Disney and beyond. And now, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Fantagraphics Books is publishing for the very first time, his sequel strips to Snow White, never before available in English and originally published from the '50s to the '80s. So plenty of volumes to come. And it begins with The Return of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs:

"After the events of the movie, Prince Charming leaves Snow White in the care of the Seven Dwarfs while he leaves for an expedition with the king. But the Evil Queen is back, and she traps Snow White and the dwarfs in the form of statuettes, awaiting the return of the Prince – and her chance to kill him in front of his one true love!

Then, the Dwarfs build a special diamond throne for the Princess, but when it vanishes, they set out to find the thief – even as the Queen prepares a special orchid for Snow White to steal away her youth and beauty. Jiminy Cricket makes a special guest appearance.

Also: what is the secret of the eighth dwarf – and why are the Dwarfs turning on each other and destroying their little cottage in the wood?"

And looking a little like this…
