Networks Rearrange Programming For Tonight's Presidential Address
If you have a show you want to watch on one of the major networks tonight, you'll probably want to double check that schedule as CBS, NBC and Fox are all moving things around so they can show President Donald Trump addressing the nation about the military plans for Afghanistan. The Presidential Address will be taking place at 9 PM Eastern Standard Time, cutting into the prime time schedule for both Eastern and Central time zones.
CBS will treat it like a CBS New Special Report with Anthony Mason on as the Anchor, Major Garrett reporting from the White House, David Martin from the Pentagon and Charlie D'Agata from Kabul, Afghanistan. They will air repeats of Kevin Can Wait and Superior Donuts in the 8 o'clock hour, then the speech followed by a new CBSN: On Assignment at 10 pm. Pacific time zone will remain the same with repeats of Mom and Life in Pieces will air where they had been scheduled at 9 and 9:30.
NBC is just bumping to give the President a half hour. A 2-hour American Ninja Warrior will air starting at 8 pm to 9 pm, then break for 30 minutes for the speech, then resume at 9:30 to 10:30 followed by a new Midnight, Texas at 10:30 PM.
Fox will handle it similarly with a the 2-hour So You Think You Can Dance being split by the speech and a wrap-up by Shepard Smith in the East and Central time zones. In the Mountain time zone they will start SYTYCD after the speech and Smith and Pacific time zone will be unaffected.
No word yet from ABC how they will handle the interruption.
