Jamie Bell Was Also "Bitterly Disappointed" With Fantastic Four Like All Of Us

To say that the 2015 version of Fantastic Four was bad is doing a disservice to the word "bad". It's one of the worst comic book movies to come out in years, and it was critically slammed by anyone who wasted their time to go see it. It was a movie that ruined the career of the director and the actors involved have been trying to get the smell off of them for years now. It's been two years since that maligned release, and star Jamie Bell recently spoke to the Los Angeles Times about his career and Fantastic Four came up.

Jamie Bell Was Also "Bitterly Disappointed" With Fantastic Four Like All Of Us

"There were several things on that movie I was clearly not privy to because I'm just an actor and I just do my stuff on set. But with something like that, everything starts with the best of intentions. A production begins with the idea to make something that's unique and original and with integrity. I think the film really strived towards those goals. I don't know what happened between the launch of the voyage and the arrival. I think we were all bitterly disappointed with that film. But that's just the way it goes sometimes."

Bell does a good job of distancing himself from the disaster that was Fantastic Four by pointing out that he was merely an actor doing his job. Nothing that happened in that movie was the fault of the actors. It was the script and the clear lack of leadership that sank that movie. Bell seems to have moved on and realized that everyone makes these kind of disasters in their careers.

As for the Fantastic Four there are a bunch of rumors and possible projects going on within the walls of 20th Century Fox. We aren't going to see that version of the Fantastic Four again though no matter what executives keep saying.
