Current ‘Overwatch’ PTR Includes Roadhog & Widowmaker Changes

If you haven’t been playing on the Public Test Region servers for Overwatch lately, we don’t blame you. A lot of people shifted over once they got to play as Doomfist. For those still playing the PRT, they’re getting to experience some new testing on buffs and adjustments on four specific characters that don’t often get touched. Junkrat, Roadhog, Widowmaker, and Orisa are all getting tweaked a bit, and we have the current stats of what you’re seeing below.

JUNKRAT

  • Concussion Mine
    • Junkrat can now hold two mines
  • RIP-Tire
    • Tire’s movement speed has been increased by 30%
    • There is no longer a time limit when wall climbing

ORISA

  • Fusion Driver
    • Projectile speed increased by 20%
  • Protective Barrier
    • Barrier size increase by 20%
    • Barrier shape has been changed to allow for more coverage from enemies that are below the barrier

ROADHOG

Take a Breather

  • Can now be used while moving
  • Damage taken while healing has been reduced by 50%

WIDOWMAKER

  • Grappling Hook
    • Cooldown has been reduced from 12 seconds to 8
  • Venom Mine
    • Affected targets are now visible through walls (to you as Widowmaker only)

Essentially, all of these additions are buffs to the crew, with Roadhog I believe getting the better of the deal as his health replenisher was more hassle than helpful while he just stood still and couldn’t move. Though I would put Junkrat’s additional ammo and ultimate buffs to be a close second. If or when these changes will go into effect in the main game is undetermined, but if you want to give them a shot, head over to the Overwatch PTR and test them out.
