Pansexual Deadpool Possible In Sequel According To The Director

Deadpool is a fascinating character despite all of the humor that people think makes him simple. The comics version of Deadpool has had a family and a marriage, he's been open to relationships with both sexes, and is much more progressive than anyone would expect. While we've seen some parts of that character end up on screen there is one major aspect of Deadpool that we haven't seen yet and that's his pansexuality.

Pansexual Deadpool Possible In Sequel According To The DirectorA pansexual is a person that loves someone else not based on their sex, gender, or gender identity but the person themselves. It a spectrum that people who are familiar with the queer community might not know much about and is certainly not something we've seen represented in the mainstream media. In an interview with The Huffington Post Deadpool 2 director David Leitch was asked about Deadpool's pansexuality and whether or not we'd see it manifest in the movie.

Everything in the Deadpool world is possible. It's such a crazy universe to play in, but I can't comment about where we're gonna go. That's what's fun about Deadpool, you really don't know and you're willing to ask these questions about him. I think that, right there, says it all. How often do you have a character where you could even have these discussions?

Leitch seems pretty open to the idea which in no way means it's going to happen but the fact that's even considering it is pretty impressive.

I'm so excited about how people are so into his universe and his world, and I think that says a lot about the character Ryan built. He's perfect for that role.

We already know that star Ryan Reynolds has no problem kissing the boys as he demonstrated during the Golden Globes when he kissed Andrew Garfield.

Deadpool 2, directed by David Leitch, stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Josh Brolin, Brianna Hildebrand, and Zazie Beetz. It will be released on June 1st, 2018.
