'Pokémon GO' Fest Ends With Widespread Failures On Raids

Everything that could go wrong at Pokémon GO Fest did go wrong. We already talked about the issues yesterday, including Niantic's CEO getting booed on stage as the issues were happening. Wanna know what the looks like? Here ya go!

To cap all of this failure off, the new raid feature in Pokémon GO has gone down. Multiple outlets and members on Reddit are confirming that overnight, the raid system suffered some type of failure, causing the timer to disappear along with the effs and the countdown clock. Niantic made no announcements about any kind of changes beyond getting the new legendary Pokémon, nor is there any kind of update from the company on social media since they announced the raids.

The rumor going around is that someone decided to pay Niantic back for the terrible time they had at the festival and put their hacking skills to good use. However, since the game itself is still operational and only a select feature is currently suffering, it's more likely that all the traffic coming into the raids has killed that part of the program. We'll be standing by to see how Niantic deals with this, but for now, if you're able to do raids… lucky you!
