Holding The Biggest MTG Card & Crying Holding Luke Skywalker At The Hasbro Fan Breakfast

Bleeding Cool took over the Hasbro Breakfast this morning at SDCC and on top of stuffing our faces with breakfast food, we got exclusive reveals of new product and figures coming to stores this year and next from Transformers, Star Wars, My Little Pony, Magic: The Gathering, and Marvel!

Star Wars is first in my heart, and this morning I got to hold the Force Awakens Luke Skywalker in my hand and it almost made me cry. Great detail, especially on his robot hand, and while some have derided the figures face sculpt, in person, it looks great. Jania Solo was also on hand, she turned out well, as did Thrawn and Hera! Forces of Destiny was a big focus as well, as we got to play around with the new line both figures and role-play. Those are actually hitting stores now…. I also got to play around with Poe's X-Wing Helmet, and it is by far the best role play Star Wars helmet they have done yet, the sounds inside include BB-8 and TIE Fighters!

My Little Pony was all about the film coming out this year, with nail polish kits and a booth to get a makeover into a Pony! My daughter will be super excited to get her hands on all of that stuff, as she is the Pony fan in the family.

Transformers had a great reveal on their table: Rodimus Prime is coming!!!! BC's Aaron Haaland could hardly contain his glee. It really is stunning, as was the Masterpiece Optimus Prime also there, with die-cast parts and a sick sculpt. That one is the most screen accurate Optimus they may have ever done.

After a bit, they put out a Rey figure from the last scene of The Force Awakens that employs new mapping and printing technologies, to get more accurate face-sculpts and bit is it a gamechanger for them. They even got the scar on her arm perfect. The Black Series is going to get even harder to get.

But nothing tops Marvel, and what they have been producing for the last year. They had not only their new waves supporting Thor: Ragnarok, but they revealed what looks to be half a wave of new X-Force mutants based on their looks by Rob Lifeld. Cable, Domino, and Deadpool were there, and all three would have come home with me if security was not tight (I kid). A kick-ass Black Widow on a motorcycle is also coming, complete with suspension! And a new line of Legends on Vintage style cards is in its way ala Star Wars 40th Anniversary. Your friend Jeremy here was so excited that he dropped the vintage example and bent the corner on Cap! They played it cool, but it will haunt me forever!

After choosing down with BC's Will Romaine and chatting with collectors, it was time to go. But not before I got to hold the biggest Magic: The Gathering card I have ever seen! Many thanks to Hasbro for the event, and I can't wait to see what they reveal at the panels this weekend!
