CBLDF’s San Diego Exclusives – Erica Henderson’s Secret Weapons #1 And William Gaines’ Face On A Pin!

A couple years ago, before she hit it big in comic book stores with the Unbeatable Squirrel Girl at Marvel, Erica Henderson drew a couple issues of Valiant’s Quantum and Woody series.

Now, just as both she and the publisher are up for a couple of Eisner Awards apiece next week in San Diego, the artist is returning to Valiant to the cover the CBLDF’s Secret Weapons #1 SDCC Liberty Variant, limited to 500 copies and available at the CBLDF’s booth (#1918) beginning Wednesday night.

Additionally, the CBLDF will be hosting two signings for the cover: one with Secret Weapons writer and Academy Award nominee Eric Heisserer on Saturday, July 22nd at 10:30 am, and another with Erica Henderson herself, also on Saturday, July 22nd at 12 noon.

The covers will also soon be available at the CBDLF’s website at cbldf.org. Proceeds from the cover will benefit the non-profit organization’s First Amendment legal and education work.

It’s also our understanding that Secret Weapons #1, the first issue of the new series from Heisserer – it is just possible you may have heard Valiant say he was the screenwriter of Arrival and Valiant’s upcoming Bloodshot feature film – and artist Raul Allen, is also rapidly approaching sold-out status at Diamond… Expect news on a new round of printings shortly…

And if you are in the mood for a pin, then why not get the face of William Gaines for $10? He’s been causing all sorts of controversy from beyond the grave as well…
