Nat Geo Wild's Sharkfest Pokes Fun At Ryan Lochte

If you're the Discovery channel and your looking to get an Olympic swimmer to race against a great white shark for Shark Week, you get the world's best swimmer, Michael Phelps. If you're Nat Geo Wild who hosts the second most popular shark focus week, Sharkfest, you end up with Ryan Lochte. The infamous Olympian is the guy who claimed he had been robbed by men with police badges in Brazil for it only to be discovered that he had lied because he got in trouble with the local police after vandalizing a bathroom.

In this new promo video for Sharkfest, Lochte shows he has a good sense of humor (or really needs the money) as he is pelted with comments about coming in second all the time (he actually has 6 gold medals). All of this while someone is chumming the water to attract sharks for Lochte to swim with. A pretty funny commercial overall.

And if your thinking, "They are TOTALLY ripping off SharkWeek." They know. They've known for a long time. Check out the video from 2015 below.
