DC Comics Drops The Price Of Dark Nights: Metal From $4.99 To $3.99

Today we learned that Marvel's Secret Empire #8 was increasing in price from $3.99 to $4.99 in August. DC Comics, however, are running in the other direction. Last month they solicited Dark Nights: Metal #2 and #3 for $4.99, just like #1 in August.

But now things are changing. DC Comics have decided to drop the price of #2 to #6 from $4.99 to $3.99. In a letter to retailers, John Cunningham, DC's SVP — Sales & Trade Marketing is quoted as saying "Orders for Dark Days: The Forge and The Casting have exceeded our expectations, and we're on a similar track for Metal #1. That's allowing us to decrease the price of the remaining issues of Metal, which means your customers can buy the whole series for five dollars less than before."

Dark Nights: Metal #1 is in Final Order Cutoff on Monday, July 10 with an on-sale date of August 16. This issue will arrive in stores with its original solicited cover price of $4.99. And then… everything drops.
