Lord Mesa Draws His Version Of That Avengers-At-Lunch Photo

A little over a week ago, Robert Downey Jr. posted an image of himself at lunch with fellow actors Benedict Cumberbatch, Mark Ruffalo, and Benedict Wong while filming Avengers: Infinity War. The actors were obviously having fun and the internet went wild — partly because RDJ is wearing a shirt with a circle cut out of the chest.

L.A.-based artist Lord Mesa is known for doing his own versions of television and film characters. He is well loved by the actors in the Arrowverse, with many of them retweeting his work and visiting with him at conventions. He’s also started doing videos of himself as he draws. Well, he saw the photo of the four MCU actors and decided to draw them in his own style — except as their characters: Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Hulk and Wong.

We can also see his process and how he draws on the computer in multiple layers.

I am honestly surprised that none of the publishers have gotten him to do a series of variant covers yet. Lord Mesa has a coloring book out now, and you can see it and more about him on his website here.
