There are some movies that are just so bad you have to wonder what the actor was thinking when they signed the contract. While that much be awkward it must be even harder to promote a bad movie. Jamie Foxx has been making the rounds for the upcoming Baby Driver. In an interview with Cinema Blend Foxx made a crack about promoting a bad movie.
“I can’t wait to tell you about that joint Baby Driver! It’s crazy, it’s cool, and it ain’t a typical film. It brings a thrill ride, so everybody can experience it. And it’s good too! It ain’t like that last joint I had. Yeah, I know it’s tough. It’s tough when you still got to promote it. You know it’s bad when they don’t ask you nothing about the movie like, ‘Man that jacket you was wearing is tight.’ Yeah, I know it sucked.”
Fox is probably talking about the cop thriller Sleepless which was a movie that made so little impact you’ve probably never heard of it. Foxx has been working in this industry for years and is used to the idea that sometimes you have to promote a bad product. Baby Driver is one of the good ones and it must be a lot easier to do promo for a project you love compared to a project you dislike. It’s not often that an actor will talk about a project they disliked or that they knew was bad in a such an open matter but Foxx likely couldn’t care less at his age. He’s a big enough name that dissing a bad movie that he was in isn’t going to hurt him in the long run.
