'Godzilla: King Of The Monsters' Director Tweets Call Sheet Listing Mothra, Rodan, And King Ghidorah

'Godzilla: King Of The Monsters' Director Tweets Call Sheet Listing Mothra, Rodan, And King GhidorahWe don't know that much about the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but what we do know sounds awesome. One of the problems with Godzilla (2014) was that the movie didn't focus enough on the monster. It ran into the Transformers problem of focusing on the humans instead of the monsters.

There were some people that debated that the movie was trying to channel Jaws. But while Jaws focuses on the people and not the shark, it makes up for the lack of shark with interesting characters. The people in Godzilla weren't fully fleshed-out, three-dimensional beings, which made every cutaway shot from Godzilla to them irritating to watch. But it looks like the monsters are going to be front and center in the new film.

Director Michael Dougherty has started filming the sequel, and has posted some fun pictures to Twitter. One of them is a call sheet that features the names of some very famous movie monsters:

Awesome, yes, there is nothing wrong with seeing all of those names. While Godzilla was lackluster and Kong: Skull Island was pretty awesome, it's going to be so cool to see more of these classic monsters made with current-generation special effects. Dougherty has also answered a few fan questions on social media in the last month:

He also posted a picture of either a table read or a production meeting. If nothing else, Dougherty is having a lot of fun with this movie:

We don't know much else about the plot of the upcoming movie, aside from the presence of the various monsters and a huge battle for humanity. We're less than a week into production, but movies have shown up to SDCC with less. Legendary usually has a panel, so maybe we'll get the first look at this movie next month. It also doesn't come out until 2019. Maybe a plot summary or some concept art is more likely.

Godzilla: King of the Monsters, directed by Michael Dougherty, stars Vera Farmiga, Millie Bobby Brown, Bradley Whitford, Kyle Chandler, and Thomas Middleditch. It will be released March 22nd, 2019.
