First Trailer For Jake Gyllenhaal's 'Stronger'

The Boston Marathon bombing was a tragedy that never should have happened. The people what were hurt and killed during those moments deserve to have their stories told in a respectful manner. That is not what they did with Patriot's Day earlier this year. That movie couldn't have been more disrespectful toward the people involved with the actual tragedy if it tried. They made up their own self insert character that just so happened to be involved in all aspects of the tragedy from being when the bombs went off to when the Tsarnaev brothers were captured.

Stronger looks like a much better representation of what this tragedy actually did to people. While the idea of chasing a bunch of terrorists around the city during that lock down sounds like a crazy movie it isn't the point. The stories being told should be the stories of the people whose lives were changed that day. Whether it's someone who lost a limb or a family member or who just can't get the image of that day out of their heads. The resilience against terrorism doesn't come from making an action movie that proves just how cool they were like Patriot's Day did but from ordinary people who become extraordinary in the case of something horrible. Those are the stories that matter.

Patriot's Day was the type of movie the Tsarnaev brothers would have wanted made because it made them look a lot smarter than they actually were. Stronger, hopefully, will be the movie that proves why they lost.

A victim of the Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 helps the police track down the killers while struggling to recover from devastating trauma.

Stronger, directed by David Gordon Green, stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Tatiana Maslany, Clancy Brown, Miranda Richardson, and Frankie Shaw. It will be released on September 22, 2017.
