Riverdale Season 2 Rumor Mill Is Heating Up With Debut Of Hiram Lodge

Riverdale is set to come back on air October 11th of this year, but fans are already begging for more. The CW show has been a huge hit, and has certainly made waves with younger audiences. Recently at Entertainment Weekly, there have been some tidbits surrounding everyone's favorite rich girl's father — Hiram Lodge. It looks like Mark Consuelos will make his debut as Papa Lodge early on in Riverdale Season 2, and executive producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa had this to say:

"Hiram is a family man, he loves and treasures his wife and especially his daughter. But there's no denying that we've built up someone who has very dark dealings and who has a criminal past. He's not like the Serpents, who are a street-level gang. He's operating at a much higher level and has tentacles everywhere. The questions will be: Is Hiram truly reformed? What does he want? How does Veronica figure into his plans? How will Archie figure into his plans?"

If you know anything about Archie, than you know Hiram Lodge doesn't like him. There's been lukewarm bad blood between the two for 75 years, and while Archie is overall a good-natured kid, he makes mistakes. These usually cause Hiram to lose his temper and toss Archie out of Lodge Mansion. There will be a slight competition for Veronica's attention and affection between the two, which, if done right, will be gloriously creepy as hell — but will fit right into the Riverdale universe.

Riverdale Season 2 debuts on the CW on October 11th at 8 p.m. EST.
