Lawbreakers Could Make It To Xbox One

Lawbreakers Could Make It To Xbox One

LawBreakers is coming to PC and PlayStation 4 on August 8, but Cliff Bleszinski's newest game could make the jump to Xbox One at some point, according to the latest reports.

In an interview with IGN at E3, Bleszinski said he wouldn't rule out the possibility of an Xbox version and explained why LawBreakers is launching on PS4, and its mostly because of Xbox fans.

"Xbox fanboys got really salty at me on Twitter, like, 'It's like you're turning your back on the box that built your career with Gears,'" Bleszinski told IGN. "And I'm like, not necessarily, because my first priority to me is my employees. I have 65 employees, many of whom have families, and I need to keep the lights on. When we looked at the fact that we could only ship on one console initially, PlayStation has the huge install base. That doesn't mean that we can't do an Xbox version later, or Xbox XOXO, or whatever they're calling it these days. I wouldn't rule it out."

Its amusing that Bleszinski responded to Xbox saltiness by being even more salty, but he does have a pretty valid point. Releasing on three platforms simultaneously is rough, especially for a small dev studio. And PS4 is the current console favorite. Guess those Xbox kids'll just have to wait. Or pick it up on PC.

Before launching in August, the game will have a PC closed beta which starts for June 28th. If you already have a key, that is. That closed beta will open up on June 30 to get some fresh blood. PS4 and PC beta signups are open, though specific beta test dates for the PS4 have not been revealed.

You can join the LawBreakers beta by signing up here.
