Excavating A Hidden History For The 1950's Marvel Universe With The Black Panther

 

So Black Panther & The Crew is cancelled with issue 6.

But we're only on issue 3, out today. So ignored that Marvel didn't even send digital previews to the usual sites who cover such things.

And they creative team are taking the opportunity to create a long legacy for the title. And in two pages bringing us three superhero teams from around the world, predating the Fantastic Four…

…in the Phillipines, China and the fictional Singapore analogue country, Madripoor. Who do Ta-Nahesi Coates, Butch Guice, Mack Chater and Scott Hanna think they are, Al Ewing? Not only do we get three new international teams, with plenty of room to explore their respective histories and identities in other titles in years to come.

And don't forget America. As well as Blue Marvel…

…we get an army of superheroes for Harlem alone.

With only three remaining issues, and previous little room for flashbacks, in nothing else, the history of Marvel Universe has got a lot bigger, and more diverse in the process.
