Remembering Sir Roger Moore As James Bond

On May 23rd, Sir Roger Moore passed away at the age of 89. He started acting in 1945 and was well known for his roles as Sir Wilfred of Ivanhoe, Beauregarde Maverick, Silky Harris and Simon Templar long before he ever picked up a shaken martini. But in 1973, Moore took over the iconic role of James Bond in Live and Let Die. It ushered in a more sophisticated era of Bond with high-tech gadgets and a touch of camp. It was followed by the Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Love Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy and finally A View to a Kill. His seven performances as OO7 is the most by any actor (Connery also did 7, but Never Say Never Again was not an official EON production).

The debate on who is the best Bond will rage on forever, but for fans born in the 70's, Roger Moore was James Bond.
