Telltale Games' Guardians Of The Galaxy Episode 2 Gets A Release Date

The second episode for Telltale Games' Guardians of the Galaxy series now has a release date. The second chapter of season one is called "Under Pressure" and will be available June 6th.

The second of five episodes in the Telltale series will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, iOS, and Android-based devices for $4.99 USD. After the events of the first episode, titled "Tangled Up In Blue", Under Pressure seems to mostly deal with the Guardians handling their new artifact and also includes some insights into Rocket Raccoon's past.

The full episode description reads:

In "Under Pressure," the Guardians just can't seem to outrun the past (or their tab), but if they figure out how to control the untold power of their mysterious new relic, they might not have to. With help from dubious old friends and unwilling new allies, Star-Lord and company scour the galaxy for answers. But how long can they elude the genocidal maniac hunting them? And will simmering tensions finally tear the team apart?
And get ready to delve into a certain Rocket Raccoon's past…

While I did play Tangled up in Blue, I found it to be largely in keeping with Telltale's usual fare; nothing surprising or out of the ordinary. And much like the Guardians movies, it relies a bit too heavily on that throwback soundtrack. While Telltale's choice of main villain for the series is interesting, it's actually a bit lame to have had Thanos killed within the first few minutes of episode one. Since the guy is a major Marvel villain, and the primary antagonist of the upcoming Infinity War films, you'd have thought the Mad Titan would get a bit more screen time. Or a cooler death.

But I did enjoy kicking the hell out of his corpse.

Hopefully he pops back up in later episodes, but for now it looks like we're focusing Hala the Accuser and a nice new world-bending McGuffin. Joy.
