We haven’t yet seen Marvel’s August 2017 solicitations, which means that, based on the publisher’s penchant for relaunches, the generally fragile sales position of a number of their titles, and the disputed success of Trickle Down Cominomics, it’s anyone guess which books will return from the previous month. But for fans of the twenty comics revealed in a Marvel press release just now that will get Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite variant covers in august, fans can breathe a heavy sigh of relief!

Celebrating the release of the video game on September 19th, these twenty Marvel titles will be published throughout the month of August:

4. BLACK PANTHER #17
5. CHAMPIONS #11
6. DEFENDERS #4
7. DOCTOR STRANGE #24
8. GENERATIONS: BANNER HULK & THE TOTALLY AWESOME HULK #1

“Fight fans, if you can’t wait until September 19th to see heroes from two awesome universes collide in Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite, we’re bringing you a sneak peek one month earlier when the battle explodes onto the covers of your favorite comics,” said Marvel Games executive creative director Bill Rosemann of the definitely not canceled books. “The game makers at Capcom and Marvel are working closely with a team of the industry’s top talent to deliver all the over the top intensity you’ve come to expect from this fan favorite franchise.”

We’ll learn what other Marvel comics made the cut when the August solicitations are revealed, any day now.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
