But it is not to be. It will not be "in shops" for July 12th. Or at all.

Publishers IDW have informed retailers through Diamond Daily that the issue has been cancelled. And that the comic book series, based on the Douglas Adams books but also playing of Max Landis' TV show, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency also from IDW Entertainment and shown on BBC America (second series filming now) will close at "a natural endpoint in issue #9".

That's the thing about Dirk Gently. It never has a natural endpoint…
