The PS4 Is Set To Get An Odd Chapter In The 'Resident Evil' Library

Resident Evil fans will be happy to see an old chestnut come back from the library, albeit an odd one. Resident Evil – Code: Veronica originally came out on the Dreamcast, technically the fourth game in the series and the first on the next generation of consoles where those darn Redfield kids go off on an adventure through a mysterious island and wind up in the antarctic. The game was later released on the PS2 and later systems as Resident Evil Code Veronica X, gaining some additional content and better graphics when it came out in 2001. It's a game that, while popular, sits in an odd space (as it was intended to be the original RE3) and doesn't fall in the traditional numbering of games. Developers at the time said it was the true sequel to RE2, but making a brand title on two different systems had history play out like it is. So fans of the game should be excited to see this tweet from Capcom that dropped on Friday.

There's no word on whether it will contain all the bonus content and side games that were created to coincide with it over the years, so for now, we're assuming it's just the basic PS2 version cleaned up for HD. We'll know more on Tuesday.
