Today also saw the news that the launch of the Catalyst Prime title Superb will be in partnership with the National Down Syndrome Society for the release of its upcoming Catalyst Prime title, Superb.

They will be working in collaboration on the portrayal of superhero Jonah in Superb from the upcoming Catalyst Prime line of books. In addition to a dedicated page every month in the series, Lion Forge will provide digital resources and educational information on Down syndrome for comic book retailers and fans.

"As the leading human rights organization for all individuals with Down syndrome, NDSS is thrilled to work with Lion Forge in the development of a Superb comic superhero named Jonah," said NDSS President Sara Hart Weir. "We look forward to sharing Jonah's adventures with Catalyst Prime's wide readership to encourage the value, acceptance and inclusion of the superheroes we know exist within all people with Down syndrome."

"Everyone faces different challenges in life, but those challenges don't prevent us from wanting to be heroes. Superb is a story about two young people faced with challenges who struggle to understand one another and what it means to be heroes. But, some challenges are more difficult for many of us to understand" says Lion Forge President, Geoff Gerber. "Luckily, NDSS is willing to help our creators explain this and to help our readers understand. Nothing could be more important when telling the story of a character who acquires powers that increase his capabilities without taking away his disabilities."

"The opportunity to work with the National Down Syndrome Society to introduce the superhero Jonah Watkins a.k.a. 'Cosmosis' to the world is an honor" says Lion Forge Senior Editor Joseph Illidge. "The power of superheroes to showcase and reveal the amazing abilities all people have speaks to the core ethos of the Catalyst Prime line of books: providing stories of heroic fiction with variety, quality, and social purpose."

The upcoming series comes from the writing team of David F. Walker (Luke Cage) and Eisner Award winner Sheena C. Howard, illustrated by Ray-Anthony Height (Amazing Spider-Man) and Le Beau L.Underwood (Spider-Man/Deadpool), with colors by Veronica Gandini (Red Hood and the Outlaws), follows two childhood friends coming to terms with newfound superpowers.

One year ago, Earth was saved from an asteroid, but a meteor shower hit the world. Youngstown, Ohio became a level 5 impact zone, and teenagers are emerging with new superpowers! Kayla Tate has returned to Youngstown and reunited with Jonah Watkins, a young man with Down syndrome. Together, they'll uncover the mystery of the superhero and Internet sensation, Cosmosis, and his nighttime battle against the supposedly benevolent corporation known as Foresight.

Lion Forge's Catalyst Prime line made its debut on Wednesday with the oneshot Cataylst Prime out tomorrow for Free Comic Book Day.
