Babs Tarr Tells How She Got Batgirl While Drawing In The DC Comics Art Academy

Babs Tarr sits down in the DC Comics Art Academy to draw Batgirl and talk about how she got into comics. Batgirl was her first comic work, coming from a San Francisco based App company that made educational iPhone¬†games doing art and some freelance work on the side. She did some toy work for Hasbro and some editorial art. She geared her style towards that. She talks about how she used to do various styles when trying to get work because she wasn’t sure what they wanted. But she says the best thing she did was to focus on the style she wanted to be doing and took out all the other styles from her portfolio. She says it will feel more sincere and you’ll get hired to do what you love to do. Cameron Stewart reached out to her to see if she was interested in doing a female superhero comic and the rest is history.
