Fear The Walking Dead Lives On For A Season 4

FTWD201

Despite a generally lukewarm critical reception,  AMC's The Walking Dead spinoff series Fear the Walking Dead has been picked up officially for a 4th season. Variety broke the news a little bit ago.

They go on to say that Andrew Chambliss and Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time) are stepping into the showrunner position after Dave Erickson stepped down in March.

"We are thrilled to be joining 'Fear The Walking Dead' and couldn't be more excited to work alongside the wonderful team at AMC on this show," said Chambliss and Goldberg.  "We love this universe and are truly honored to have the chance to contribute to it."

Having showrunners from a Disney based series come onto the dark flesheater is….strange right?  I think it's strange.

But WHO KNOWS, maybe Chambliss and Goldberg will bring a much needed jolt of life to the shambling series, which saw a STEEP decline in viewership during it's 3rd season. Obviously AMC knows more about the series' future than we do, and maybe that's enough to keep the trend of walkers trudging ever forward.

No word yet on when we can expect to see the 4th season of Fear The Walking Dead lumber back onto TV screens.
