Bayonetta Is Now On Steam

BAYONETTA

We may have gotten 8-bit Bayonetta as an April Fools joke on Steam, but PlatinumGames has given us another reason to be excited for Bayonetta again by putting the original game out on Steam. Bayonetta is now available for Windows PC via Steam.

The PC port of the 2009 game will feature a wealth of graphics options, according to Sega, including support for resolutions up to 4k and for 60-frames per second refresh rate. Bayonetta for PC will also feature "anti-aliasing, anisotropic filtering, SSAO lighting, scalable texture and shadow quality, and more." The game also supports keyboard and mouse controls, Sega said.

Bayonetta for PC supports many of the service's features: Steam achievements, Steam cloud save, trading cards, leaderboards and Big Picture Mode.

PlatinumGames was directly involved in the Windows PC port of Bayonetta, according to Sega, which is pretty solid news. PlatinumGames does make great action games, and I'm sure they've managed a relatively faithful PC port.

The original Bayonetta was released on PS 3 and Xbox 360 in 2009. Sega and PlatinumGames later brought the title to Wii U alongside the release of the sequel, Bayonetta 2, in 2014.

"We are dedicated to bringing high-quality, best practice PC conversions of our back catalogue games to our fans, and Bayonetta was a great fit," said John Clark, senior vice president of commercial publishing for Sega Europe, in a statement. "Bayonetta is one of the most often requested PC conversions of our games, so finally being able to launch it on Steam is fantastic. There's more to come!"

If you're interested in checking out the 8-bit version of the game we got just 10 days ago, you can do so here. And you can purchase Bayonetta on Steam for $19.99. Happy hunting.
